I’m planning to book a seat on The Overland but I was wondering what are the meal and dining options aboard this train?
–Sherrilyn
You can indulge in a variety of meal options onboard The Overland. The train has a café on board, where you can purchase a range of hot meals, snacks, and drinks throughout your journey. If you’ve booked a Red Premium seat, you can enjoy an all-inclusive breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice.
My wife and I are looking to organise a luxury wilderness retreat for our anniversary, what Journey Beyond lodge should we book?
–Oliver
Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary! We think the perfect wilderness retreat to celebrate at is Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, which is nestled on the shores of Western Australia. Perfect for an intimate escape, Sal Salis is an eco-lodge with exclusive safari-style tents set against the backdrop of the Cape Range National Park. There’s plenty to do during the day like exploring the breathtaking Ningaloo Reef, snorkelling, kayaking, and guided wilderness walks, and by night you can indulge in fine dining under the stars. Sal Salis’ serene seclusion and connection to nature make this retreat the perfect setting to celebrate your special occasion. Explore more at salsalis.com.au.
Exploring Rottnest Island has been on my bucket list for so long; besides the ferry service, what else can I book with Rottnest Express to explore the island?
–Matt
There is plenty to do with Rottnest Express and many ways to explore the beauty of the island. Besides the convenient ferry service, you can choose to book guided bus tours to discover the island’s natural beauty and historical landmarks. You can also rent a bike and cycle around the island, or choose from snorkel hire and tours, and stand-up paddleboarding for a fun and active way to experience the waters.
I’m excited about my upcoming Cruise Whitsunday adventure. Can you suggest some packing essentials so I’m as prepared as can be?
–Sara
You only need a couple of basics to have a comfortable Cruise Whitsunday experience. For any of the day tours, we recommend you bring your swimmers, a beach towel, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, comfortable shoes, a light jacket or sweater to protect against the wind and cooler weather, as well as a credit card for snacks, drinks and optional activities. If you’ve booked a Reefsleep experience, you can also bring one small overnight bag with your toiletries and a change of clothes.
I want to organise a unique get-together for my friends and me. I’ve heard about the Melbourne Skydeck Cocktails in the Clouds experience, which seems perfect. Can you please explain what the package gets me?
–Briana
That sounds like a wonderful way to catch up with friends. With the Melbourne Skydeck Cocktails in the Clouds package, you and your friends get admission to the Skydeck where you can enjoy a signature cocktail from Bar 88 while overlooking the city from the highest observation deck in the Southern Hemisphere. Then, you can all indulge in an incredibly immersive experience at the Voyager Theatre; a sensory VR journey of discovery through 16 iconic Melbourne experiences.
I’ve always wanted to see Uluru and the Red Centre but haven’t had the chance until now. Can you recommend the best Outback Spirit tour?
–Caleb
Absolutely! The Red Centre Explorer tour is a perfect opportunity to see Uluru and visit the Red Centre. It’s an eight-day tour from Alice Springs to Uluru where you’ll get to enjoy a guided base tour once you get to the incredible landmark. Other highlights of the tour include being dazzled by the ‘Field of Light’ display at Uluru, a Kings Canyon guided scenic walk, dining under the stars and accommodation at the 5-star Sails in the Desert Hotel. You can discover more about the Red Centre Explorer tour at outbackspirittours.com.au.
I’m just wondering if I need to carry cash or a credit card onboard The Ghan? I just want to be prepared, thanks.
–Jasmine
The great thing about our experiential train journeys is that they’re all-inclusive. This means you won’t need to buy anything unless you choose to book an Off Train Experience upgrade or purchase any souvenirs, which you can do onboard using our EFTPOS or credit card facilities. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide or accept any cash on our trains.
