Exmouth, Western Australia, is the gateway to Australia’s Ningaloo Reef (Nyinggulu), a pristine aquatic wonderland that is home to an abundance of marine life including dolphins, manta rays, turtles, humpback whales and of course the iconic whale sharks.

From March to October, the reef draws in the majestic whale sharks thanks to annual spawning of more than 200 species of coral. These gentle giants of the sea grow to between 3-8 metres long. While serene humpback whales call the reef home between July to October.

MARCH - MAY

Shoulder season in Exmouth, weather starts changing after wet season. Conditions can be hot and humid with some rainfall, which means a quieter feeling in town. This is the start of whale shark season.

JUNE - AUGUST

Dry season, weather starts to clear with warm days and temperate nights, this time of year marks peak season in Exmouth. There is less chance of rain at this time of year and conditions tend to be more comfortable. This is the best time to swim with whale sharks.

SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER

Shoulder season in Exmouth, weather starts to change again after dry season slowly getting warmer and more humid during the days. There is less chance of seeing Whale Sharks at this time of year. During these months you can swim with Humpback Whales and Whale Sharks.

HUMPBACK WHALE & WILDLIFE TOUR

Embark on a tour on the Ningaloo Reef to encounter the marine life that calls the reef home, including the opportunity to swim with humpback whales. Whale sharks and manta rays may also be spotted on this tour and might be included in the case that humpback whales aren’t. On this tour your clients have the choice to book a day either above or below the water line with lunch and souvenir photos and video included. Swimmers will get the opportunity to slip into the water for the chance to swim with humpback whales.
